A special event titled \u201cHonoring Memory\u201d (\uae30\uc5b5\uc758 \uc608\uc6b0) will be held at Changgyeonggung Palace in autumn 2026.<\/p>\n

The program offers a modern interpretation of a Joseon royal banquet and uses royal court culture and traditional performing arts to honor those who dedicated themselves to Korea\u2019s independence movement and their descendants.<\/p>\n

General sessions will be held on September 17, 19 and 20. First-come, first-served booking will open through Ticketlink on September 8 at 2:00 p.m. KST.<\/p>\n

September 18 is designated as a session for international visitors, but booking instructions have not yet been announced.<\/p>\n

What Is \u201cHonoring Memory\u201d?<\/h2>\n

\u201cHonoring Memory\u201d is a modern interpretation of the gongsinyeon, a Joseon royal banquet traditionally held to honor meritorious subjects.<\/p>\n

Through royal court culture and traditional performing arts, the event pays tribute to those who dedicated themselves to Korea\u2019s independence movement and their descendants, carrying their achievements and memories into the future.<\/p>\n

The event commemorates several important anniversaries in 2026: the 150th anniversary of the birth of Kim Gu, the 100th anniversary of the June 10 Independence Movement and the 81st anniversary of Korea\u2019s Liberation Day.<\/p>\n

A Three-Act Program<\/h2>\n

The program consists of three acts themed \u201cWelcome,\u201d \u201cMission\u201d and \u201cEternity.\u201d<\/p>\n

Act 1: Welcome<\/h3>\n

Guests will be welcomed with royal court sweets and a traditional court dance. The story of one participant connected to Korea\u2019s independence movement will also be presented.<\/p>\n

Act 2: Mission<\/h3>\n

Pansori, media fa\u00e7ade projections, laser art and group dance will express the courage and sense of mission of those who worked toward Korea\u2019s independence during a difficult period in its history.<\/p>\n

Act 3: Eternity<\/h3>\n

The final act will begin with a monologue, followed by a performance featuring a traditional singer and musical actors. Media art depicting the Taegeukgi and the history of Korea\u2019s independence movement will illuminate Munjeongjeon Hall.<\/p>\n
