Important state ceremonies and official events were held here during the Joseon Dynasty. Inside the hall, the royal throne stands in front of the Irworobongdo, the traditional painting of the sun, moon and five peaks.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors are normally able to climb the Woldae platform and view the throne and interior through the hall\u2019s open doorways. During the restriction period, however, visitors will not be able to go onto the platform or approach the doorways for a close view of the interior.<\/p>\n<p>The courtyard will remain accessible, and visitors can still view and photograph the exterior of Geunjeongjeon Hall from the courtyard.<\/p>\n<p>\u25a0 Restriction period<br>September 2\u2013October 31, 2026<\/p>\n<p>\u25a0 Restricted area<br>The Woldae stone platform in front of Geunjeongjeon Hall<\/p>\n<p>\u25a0 Reason for the restriction<br>To protect the stone railings and other stonework and to ensure visitor safety<\/p>\n<p>If you are planning to visit Gyeongbokgung Palace this fall, please be aware that the throne and interior of Geunjeongjeon Hall will be difficult to see clearly from the courtyard.<\/p>\n<p>*The restriction period and viewing arrangements may be subject to change.
